Parent’s Night Out?

The Parish Education Committee is looking into the possibility of having a community outreach project – Parent’s Night Out, one night a month, September to November, 6 to 8 pm (dates to be determined).  See the table under the Parish Education Bulletin Board for more information.  Please sign up today since you will need to attend the Godly Play and Prevention of Sexual Abuse training.  Both classes will be conducted at Trinity in August.

Lunch Bunch Taking a Break….

The Lunch Bunch will take a summer break and not meet in July and August.  Our next meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 23 at 11:30 am at Pio’s Restaurant

Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse Training will be held at Trinity on Saturday, August 7 at 9 am to 1 pm in Parish Hall.  Please sign up at the Parish Education table.  This class is for those who have never attended and for those needing a refresher course.  This class is required for those who work with children or youth.  So that we can properly plan, we need your reservation no later than Sunday, August 1.

Smile for the Day

There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country.  “Is there anything breakable in here?” asked the postal clerk.  “Only the Ten Commandments,” answered the lady.

OASIS food pantry has entered the “Pepsi Challenge”.  If you believe in this ministry, they really need our church’s help.

On July 1, they were 61st on the list, now they are at 41….so more votes are needed.  They are asking all those who support OASIS to help them by voting EVERYDAY in July in order to gain this grant of $250,000.  They will be able to buy the property they now occupy that includes four buildings and an acre of land.

This property will be used solely for the food pantry, thrift store and other charitable organizations to help the families in our community.  To vote: Go to www.refresheverything.com  (1) Go to the blue banner at the bottom of the screen and in the lower left hand corner and click on “sign in” (2) Follow the instructions to register:  The first time you click on this site select “No I’m new here,” register; then click on “sign in.”  NOW you are signed in and can vote every day in July. (3) At the top of this new page on the right hand side is a white box with a “spy glass” in it.  Type in (exactly as shown)  O.A.S.I.S. (or) o.a.s.i.s. (be sure to type in the periods)

Then click on the “spy glass” and it will take you to our O.A.S.I.S. grant.  On the right side of our banner is a button that says: VOTE FOR THIS IDEA. Click on this button and your vote is counted.  Remember the project with the most votes in the month wins.  So……….

Vote every day in July and ask your friends to do the same.  THANKS

Pastoral Care Committee

Meets today – 10:45 am

Want to make a difference for Trinity folks who are ill, hospitalized, or home bound?   Here is an opportunity to extend your service to Trinity and to those who are unable physically to attend our services and programs.  We are asking for volunteers to visit these shut-ins or hospitalized parishioners.  Bring a little bright spot into their often lonely days with brief visits and news of Trinity.  This is a no-regular-meeting “committee”.  Your visits can be monthly, weekly, or whatever fits your schedule.

We will have a brief gathering to answer any questions and get an idea of how many folks are interested on July 18…after the 9:15 am service, in the Library.  If you are unable to attend, please see Betty Bowen or Susan Goddard for information.  Please help us keep our friends connected to their church.
